Chinese phone maker Oppo has launched the F9 in the Kenyan market.
Going by its specs sheet, it is a device that can hold its own against popular and pricier brands.
Here are its technical specifications.
The device measures 156.74x74x8mm and weighs 169g.
The Oppo F9 comes with a 6.23-inch LTPS IPS LCD unique Water-drop screen with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio and 409ppi density.
The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.
OS and Processors
The device runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) layered with Oppo’s ColorOS 5.2.
It is powered by an Octa-core processor (4×2.0GHz Cortex A-73 and 4×2.0GHz Cortex A-53) based on the MediaTek MT6771 Helio P60 chipset.
Graphics are powered by a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.
RAM and Storage
The device comes in two variants; one with 4GB RAM and another with 6GB RAM.
Both have 64GB internal storage. Storage can be expanded further via micro-SD of up to 256GB.
The Oppo F9 has dual rear camera (16MP, f/1.8, PDAF + 2MP, F/2.4, depth sensor) and 25MP AI front camera.
Network and Connectivity
The device has Dual SIM capability, with support for GSM, HSPA and LTE network standards.

The device is available on pre-order with the 4GB going at Ksh. 35,990 while the 6GB will cost Ksh. 37,990.
